Above: Lenwood Skip "Hard Rock" Hamilton, a burly 6-foot-2 former NFL football player - with the Philadelphia Eagles- turned pro wrestler, started Soul City Wrestling and Soul City Mentoring, minority-owned organizations in the Philadelphia area. Soul City Wrestling was a non-violent, family-oriented wrestling organization. Soul City Mentoring is an extension of Soul City Wrestling which focused on mentoring troubled youth, building neighborhoods and making a difference.
Lenwood Skip "Hard Rock" Hamilton spent most of his youth in a group home in Easton, Pennsylvania, and he is grateful for the people who believed in him.
Academic deficiencies spoiled a promising football career at North Carolina State where Skip was on scholarship, but he went on to play at Southern University.
Skip was an NFL player for the Philadelphia Eagles. Although Skip was disappointed his NFL career was short-lived, he went on to have a successful career in the Canadian Football League.
After his football playing days were over, Skip started Soul City Wrestling and Soul City Mentoring, minority-owned organizations in the Philadelphia area. Soul City Wrestling was a non-violent, family-oriented wrestling organization.
Today, Soul City Mentoring was is an extension of Soul City Wrestling which focused on mentoring troubled youth as well as neighborhood development in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It extends mentoring programming throughout Philly to communities in Westlake Village Oaks, California.
Lenwood "Hard Rock" Hamilton has a long history of speaking and loves to share his experiences with a sense of humor to the audience.
