Tonight was the live speaking introduction put on by Power WVSR 1360-AM, entitled "Making A Difference Talk Show hosted by Bob Conga." Among the speakers was former Gray Fox band member and bass guitar player, Andrew Mount, musician.

Power WVSR 1360-AM, in Philadelphia, PA, and Bob Conga promised to have an announcement to make on the talk show, as well. That announcement is that Andrew Mount has joined Power WVSR 1360-AM and Power88 The FM as a radio station team member.

 
While employed at a cafe in 30th Street Station, Andrew met someone who had just moved to the City of Brotherly Love several months earlier from Alaska.  “We ended up discovering that we had similar interests in music and, despite the fact that I had not played in quite some time, he invited me over for a jam session with him on drums and his friend on guitar, who had also just moved from Alaska,” says Mount.  “That was the beginning of my part as a member of a band called "Grey Fox.”

Andrew Mount, who will be a frequent voice on both Power WVSR 1360-AM and Power88 The FM.  He is a professional customer service representative` and a writer also.   Andrew Mount, who will cover news and features at the station's music guest appearances, live events, and reviews, now officially joins that station on a daily basis.

Making a Difference with host Bob Conga, a musician, and community activist, is the live and local weekly radio show on WVSR Tuesdays from 4:30pm-5pm.  Mount’s bass guitar player talent adds to Conga’s conga drum player talent and keyboard player talent representing the radio station founded by Philadelphia’s own Van Stone.

For over 10 years Van Stone of Philadelphia, PA has established activities for and in memory of women, children, men, and yes, even pets to support the weekly and annual customary practice of helping.  To Van Stone, if you call your good deeds for women, children, men, and pets helping hands or praying hands it makes little difference as long as you are making a difference for the living because women, children, men, and yes pets could face neglect or abuse.

A loving parent or pet owner may have experienced the sudden and unexplained loss of a child or animal.  Many children go missing or become victims of unsolved deaths. And many pets go missing or become victims of neglect and abuse.  In situation women, children, men find themselves facing obstacles simply because they are people lovers or animal lovers.  They have few outside of the family support systems to turn to when trying to cope with a loss.

Women especially, enjoy support to help them establish conversations and events in memory of their sons, daughter, or pets to support activities provided to talented children and adults in a community.

 And most recently, Veronica Brinkley, Singer and Model, of the West Philadelphia, PA area has joined the in memory initiative led by Power88 The FM radio, and focused upon meeting the needs of women and pets in the Philadelphia, PA area: West Philly, Southwest Philly, North Philly, and Logan Northeast Philly sections.

And yours truly, Van Stone is hoping for a similar reaction of the in memory initiative to start taking place in the New York area.  The Philadelphia area is getting a whole lot of interest and love from the Upstate New York followers ever since Antoine Hepkins, music artist, and music editor, has been featured with both Power WVSR 1360 and Power88 The FM internet radio stations.

As for Veronica Brinkley, Ms. Brinkley is using her popularity and talents to go about bringing more focus on aims to raise, over time, lots of money which will generate substantial gifts to local and national women who are coping with loss of a loved one, a child in particular, or women pet owners who desire to support organizations such as the Van Stone’s group.

Veronica Brinkley has compassion for fellow women and others who face obstacles that keep women from achieving security and financial independence; often times a loss of a child or even a pet will be the bigger challenge for women to start the achieve security and financial independence process in life.

Veronica Brinkley, in Philadelphia area, and some humbled person in Upstate New York area, collectively along with Van Stone will allow the Power88 The FM radio station Team to have more of an impact than any lone individual could ever have done.   

Veronica Brinkley has begun volunteering for the effort to help women as well as lovers of pets most recently beginning with having a positive attitude and committing to doing a few radio announcements about the need for funding for a successful effort.

The Music Business is on the brink of total collapse-this comes as a surprise to nobody.  I asked my daughter where she bought her music; she didn't understand the question (her generation does not purchase music)!. 

The demographic that still spends money on their music are poorly served by the Major Labels. 

The Music Industry could help itself by signing acts culled from the sizable segment of society that still buys records (i.e. the "Baby Boomers" who created the industry!!).

The children responsible for propelling artists like The Beatles, The Temptations, Jimi Hendrix, Dionne Warwick, Led Zeppelin, Earth, Wind and Fire, et al. into the stratosphere have come of age and are wondering where the music went.

If a label with any sense of self-preservation were to sign artists in the vein of the acts previously mentioned they might be pleasantly surprised by the support received (there is a huge demographic longing for music played by actual musicians that are being ignored).

Instead of kowtowing to children a move in the opposite direction may prove to be the only thing that can generate much needed revenue.

Consider this: The Beatles released an album 40 years after they went their separate ways and it went to #1 the same week; you don't need to be a Rocket Scientist to figure out who bought the lion's share of those CD's.
