Child Model Amirah "Aaliyah" Wood Hosting Youth Talk And Music Radio Show In Power WVSR 1360 And Power 88 The FM Philadelphia Program
Student Amirah "Aaliyah" Wood will learn about radio mostly by talking on the West Philadelphia Van Stone Radio (WVSR) station to regular listeners and viewers.
Listeners will be able to enjoy the youth by visiting www.powerwvsr1360.us and or www.power88.us.
Van Stone, owner of radio national radio stations on Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA's West Side will continue his long history of helping children learn radio hosting in an effort to keep them off the streets and improve their views on school, culture and community.
Aaliyah, a 12 year-old elementary school student and the niece of Van Stone, introduces other children to the ins and outs of talk radio and music, and gives talented kids a chance to get on the air live.
Aaliyah, child model, twitter video creator, dancer and singer will host a half a hour show held once every other Saturday at the Van Stone radio mini studio.
Guest adult broadcasting instructors will pitch in to talk and teach the kids.
The program was started by Van Stone, volunteer community safety officer.
Stone has long been in charge of neighborhood outreach, counseling crime victims, and running community meetings in any neighborhood struggling with some of the highest crime rates in the city.
Station managers will also come in every once in awhile to talk to the students about diction and public speaking.
Professional talk show host will talk about performance. And Aaliyah Wood will do DJ-ing with Van Stone as the hosts give youth pointers during talk and music breaks.
The live show will be recorded by Aaliyah Wood using basic cell phone technology and after the end put on her own twitter account for viewers and followers.
The next live radio show starts in November.
