In 1958, it didn't matter who would be allowed or who would not be allowed to vote. In the year 2016, it really doesn't matter who will be allowed or who will not be allowed to vote.
Go Vote! Get Out And Vote! Make A Change...
2016... In the Defiant Ones movie, Innocent and good Black Peoples (registered American Voters) are chained to innocent and good White Peoples (registered American Voters), and the two groups must escape together or be ruined by the corrupt political system for United States Presidential Election.
In the each and every USA presidential election... both White and Black Americans are tricked into disliking the other-chained- so that corrupt political powers may continue wealth and power and greed in the United States.
Both 2016 presidential candidates use White Americans and Black Americans to dislike the other gaining the vote... neither candidate earns the vote of the American registered voters.
The 2016 presidential election, (candidates Clinton and Trump) explodes only to expose attitudes demanding that candidates must earn the votes of the common American citizens registered to vote.
It doesn't matter which candidate wins the 2016 presidential election, November 8, 2016...
the conclusion will be just like as in the ending of the fiction movie, the Defiant Ones, many many more innocent White Americans and Black Americans will break the chains and stand and suffer all together (volunteering to unite) because the two presidential party candidates are deeply aweful for the country of the U.S.
Any and all groups peacefully working all together to end open and hidden injustice in the USA will immediately become name-called... defiant ones.
Therefore, the peoples in the USA needing real change the most will never get anything in return for their vote... the cruel and hard reality of party politics.
The Defiant Ones is a 1958 crime film which tells the story of two escaped prisoners, one white and one black, who are shackled together and who must co-operate in order to survive. It stars Tony Curtis and Sidney Poitier.
The Plot?
A Black man shackled to a White man, because "the warden had a sense of humor."
They are told not to look at each other too hard as "they will probably kill each other in the first five miles."
Despite their mutual loathing, they are forced to cooperate, as they are chained together. At first their cooperation is motivated by self-preservation but gradually, they begin to respect and like each other.
They attempt to break into a general store, in hopes of obtaining food and tools to break the chain that holds them together.
They are captured by the inhabitants, who form a lynch mob;
The lynch mob prepare to hang both the Black man and the White man from a tree for all to see.
"A remarkably apt and dramatic visualization of a social idea—the idea of men of different races brought together to face misfortune in a bond of brotherhood—is achieved by producer Stanley Kramer in his new film, The Defiant Ones... Between the two principal performers there isn't much room for a choice.
Mr. Poitier stands out as the Negro convict and Mr. Curtis is surprisingly good. Both men are intensely dynamic.
Mr. Poitier shows a deep and powerful strain of underlying compassion...In the ranks of the pursuers, Theodore Bikel is most impressive as a (good) sheriff with a streak of mercy and justice, which he has to fight to maintain against a brutish (bad) state policeman, played by Charles McGraw."
This thesis is exercised in terms of a colored and a white man, both convicts chained together as they make their break for freedom from a Southern prison gang.
The performances by Tony Curtis and Sidney Poitier are virtually flawless. Poitier captures all of the moody violence of the convict, serving time because he assaulted a white man who had insulted him.
It is a cunning, totally intelligent portrayal that rings powerfully true...
Curtis delivers a true surprise performance. He starts off as a sneering, brutal character, willing to fight it out to-the-death with his equally stubborn companion.
When, in the end, he sacrifices a dash for freedom to save Poitier, (because Poitier made strong and sincere effort to save Curtis in the beginning demonstrating skill of sympathy in heart and mind and soul) he has managed the transition with such skill that sympathy is completely with him."
