The business of being proclaimed the World's Champion Wrestler is very complicated to discuss. There are different pro wrestling rules and moves. But in wrestling everyone must learn and then use pinning techniques. Holding an opponent's shoulders to the mat for a three count, for a pinfall which will win the match for that stand-alone-champ or championship team is a must.
Sometimes a person attempts to break up the pin.
Nevertheless, if the opponent lies on his/her stomach upon
impact, even when he/she is knocked out cold due to the body being effectively
a dead weight, the champ must have you on your back.
There are about half a dozen
men, in as many states and subject to as many rules, who claim to be the
Champion of the World.
On talk radio sports Soul City
Wrestling World Heavyweight Professional Wrestling Champion “Hard Rock”
Hamilton wants to settle it once and for all, by beating all of them right in
front of an audience.
For now, though, since there
are no takers due to the COVID-19 Virus, Hard Rock, The World Heavyweight
Wrestling Champ of the SCW settles for talking to his own audience about what’s
pro wrestling all about on his talk radio show. The show is on the web. It can
be seen and heard on Facebook and YouTube.
Before Hard Rock captured the
belt for pro wrestling champ of the world, wrestling in the heavyweight
division, he had to whip “King Kong Bundy,” the one colossal professional superstar wrestler
who tangled with other stars like the Undertaker, Gorilla Monsoon, Hulk Hogan
and Andre the Giant in the 1980s and ’90s.
Hard Rock stepped into the
ring Friday, February 28, 1997, at the George Washington Carver Community
Center in the main event feud match against a then bald, scowling goliath
Bundy. Bundy stood about 6 feet 4 inches tall and was said to weigh 450 pounds
or more in his prime.
Hard Rock, who happened to be
another unique Black star, among the likes of “Bobo Brazil,” “The South
American Giant,” “Ron Simmons,” “Rocky Johnson,” a man in college and pro sport
history who has battled for championship titles in basketball, track and field,
football, and wrestling, slammed King Kong Bundy!
The second to ever slam Bundy, it was Hard Rock's dropping
an elbow technique on him that excited the crowd as legendary ringside
announcer "Robert Geary" stared.
Robert Geary, as the announcer for matches, identified the
massive Bundy as an invincible
monster heel who usually crushed the good guys- Hard Rock was determined to be
the best, if not, the one good guy who wouldn’t be crushed by Bundy.
So, how did the SCW presents Hard Rock VS King Kong Bundy
main event match end? That would be one good reason to be join in the fun as a
participant in the Hard Rock Hamilton’s talk radio show.
Though
Bundy held his own in the ring, he never became a WWE or WWF champion. Still, he became someone greater in the minds eye of Hard
Rock Hamilton. Bundy became an endearing advisor to him, according to
Hamilton.
Wherever Hard Rock was discovered to become a wrestler, no storyline was bigger than the one
that was to come next… The one involving Hard Rock and Primo Carnera, aka “Mike
Fury,” “Big Gun,” “Big Guido,” Primo Carnera III,” one of the biggest villains
of all time SCW.
Accepting former Soul City
Wrestling Federation Stablemate Primo Carnera challenge from the previous week, Hard Rock would
therefore have to whip Primo Carnera, who some had already recognized as the
champion before the Carnera VS Hamilton pro wrestling championship match.
Primo Carnera, the
seven-foot-one giant frame of a man, weighing 450 pounds, had a 50-inch chest,
arms and legs like tree trunks.
Hard
Rock had never lost a championship match of any kind before. He had no
intentions of losing to Primo Carnera III.
In
one memorable match in a World Heavyweight Championship match in the main event, Hard Rock snatched Primo
Carnera and then finished him with a boom of thunder. Each boom of thunder was loud enough to rattle the car
windows.
Pinning
Primo Carnera. How did Hard Rock do it?
